Okay Rap your team versus my team, game of the season; a rematch of last year's finals. Both teams have a record of 37-23... but they're going in opposite directions. You have the hottest team in the league, while the Sens have slumped since the start of the new year. We picked up cup winners Cory Stillman and Mike Commodor, you picked up CUP MVP's Scott Neidermayer and Temmu Selanne. Really impressed with how your boys have played lately dude.

Big test for the team from up north. Could be a stanley cup preview here. God the East is weak.

Would like to hear your thoughts after the game Rap.

P.S. Tal wtf is up with ze Canucks. They playing well? Poorly?

Fo sho, East is Least this season. Sens should have gotten rid of Emery at the deadline. Canucks are one man team, poor Luongo :(. Ducks and Stars in west final this year. Looks like ducks are gonna win it all again. I still hate the ducks. So Rap, after following hockey for the past couple of years, do you know what icing is yet?

lol.

I have to concede that the Ducks look like the favorites although I'm liking my Stars team more and more. Come talk to me 2 years from now when Richards gets bored again and we're paying him $8M. As odd as a hockey team may be in Dallas, hockey in Anaheim is just absurd. That being said, you should see the support and the growth in local Dallas youth hockey. There are now seven Dr. Pepper StarCenters hockey arenas and I suspect we will see NHL players from Dallas in the not too distant future. I wouldn't have guessed it when the Stars relocated, but hockey is working in Dallas (although we can't keep a clean sheet of ice to save our lives. Humidity ftl.) Have I hijacked the thread yet?

Pittsburgh isn't bad although I am still ticked since they toyed with moving to Houston in an effort to get a deal done in Pittsburgh.

I hope you're right and hockey does develop some roots down south. But I think hockey's only popular in local winning markets down there. The Canucks are crap and they've sold out something like 250+ games in a row, heck I went to game last week. But as soon as US teams start losing media and fans don't even care. Haha, I remember last year's Stanley cup finals some Canadian media were asking people so are you gonna watch the Ducks in the finals and most people in Anaheim didn't even know what the question meant.

huh?

Not sure what all this jibberish means, but the NFL Draft is coming-up shortly. Even though my boy McFadden is considered the best overall prospect, his stock has been falling faster than the Dow Jones. I guess getting hit with a paternity suit and then 2 others claiming they carry his seed doesn't help. From the sound of things, he should fit right in.

I suspect his "seed" is worth a pretty penny these days. The "ladies" with kids must be angry as hell. Each new kiddo cuts into their share.

Tal might be correct although I have been encouraged over the past few years (when Dallas was good but not too good) and the local hockey interest has not decreased.

The West is stronger than the East again. I'd have to say Ducks, Stars or the Wings will win it this year. I'd give a slight edge to the Ducks because of their D.

icing is the stuff you put on cakes.

Yeah, it's rough pickings for us post-season poolies this year. While you can list the top teams in the West, and I'd agree with Gromit's selections (I'd slot the RW's in 4th), you really can't do the same in the East. The parity is too great, there simply are no dominant teams. The one thing the Sens have in spades that no other eastern team has is their extensive playoff experience. Despite being in a huge slump, I'd go with their players in your playoff pools due to both their experience and immense talent.

I think they're ready to explode in round 1.

We're deeply hurt by the loss of Zubov, but I still think we'll beat the Mighty Ducks.
